The Identification of key symptomatic differences in patients with shorter duration of therapy could suggest that aggressive early management can extend time on therapy, leading to improved outcomes.

Canopy Findings Published in Journal of Clinical Oncology

Seventeen-Month Study Demonstrates 88% Engagement at 6 Months and Care Team Optimization Results Canopy, the first Intelligent Care Platform for oncology, today announced results from a seventeen-month, real-world study of their ePRO-based patient monitoring platform. The single-site study of 923 patients at Highlands Oncology Group demonstrates the Canopy platform can be effectively implemented at a large scale with a high level of long-term patient enrollment, engagement, and retention. The study also found that the vast majority of patient issues were effectively resolved by nurse specialists and physician intervention was infrequently required.

Oncologists and oncology providers want the best for their patients, recognizing that being diagnosed with cancer is devastating, treatment is hard, and bad things can happen despite best efforts. They also understand patient expectations, doing everything possible to deliver an easier journey, the highest quality of life, and the best outcomes. Innovation is expected in oncology, with physicians and providers driving support for clinical trials and new treatment options, including the advancement of health technologies. As a result, we are now at a point where the evolution of the care delivery model, including the use of remote patient monitoring via electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePROs), needs to occur.
