The study evaluated patients receiving oral oncology therapies across five community practices with MIPs. Patients were invited to enroll in the Canopy ePRO-based RTM system and asked to report missed doses and symptoms on a weekly basis. Key findings presented include:
"Remote Therapeutic Monitoring gives us critical insights into why patients on oral oncology therapies miss doses and the symptoms they experience between office visits. With further study, this approach could support earlier interventions, lead to improved outcomes, and, for patients living in remote or underserved areas, reduce barriers to care."
—Shruti Sharma, DO, lead author, hematologist, and medical oncologist at Texas Oncology-San Antonio Medical Center
"Meeting ASCO/NCODA oral-anti-cancer standards is critical yet challenging for many practices. Phone calls are difficult to scale and only capture a fraction of what patients experience between visits. Remote Therapeutic Monitoring supports a clearer understanding of each patient’s experience in a way that is feasible for community practices to implement."
—Michael Kolodziej, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Canopy and study co-author
